West Lebanon July 6 – Clyde Auter, 43, World War veteran, who lost his job a few days ago as a laborer on Road 34, committed suicide at 4:30 o’clock this morning at his home here, by shooting himself in the right temple with a 32-calibre revolver which lay beside his lifeless form as his wife discovered what he had done.  He had expressed himself as despondent. The family moved here several weeks ago from Judyville. Coroner AJ Devenish of Williamsport pronounced a suicide verdict in the case but an inquest will be held after the funeral at the Hamilton Funeral Home. In 190 he married Lucy Barrick, who survives, with four daughters, Viola, Violet, Betty Jean and Verna Louise. His father, John Auter, also survives, living at Rob Roy. - transcribed by kbz
